Also known as Sarah's Law, Proposition 4 was created to protect young girls from the horrors of abortion. Sarah was a 15 year old that died from an abortion. She had developed injuries and an infection from a legal abortion. Because she did not tell her parents or an adult and is not required to do so, she continued to suffer with the pain from the infection. Her parents did not find out until much later and by the time they took her to the hospital it was too late. Proposition 4 will make it the law that a Doctor that is going to perform an abortion on a girl that is under 18 will have to tell an adult of her choosing. She would not have to tell her parents but could choose any member of her family like her grandparents, an aunt, or an older sibling. Sarah's law will protect young girls from being forced to have an abortion. Sometimes when young girls get pregnant by molestation, statutory rape or sexual abuse the predator will "guilt" them , threaten them, or force them to have an abortion. For example there was a 15 year girl that was impregnated by her 33 year old karate instructor. When he found out she was pregnant he told her he was going to kill himself if she did not have an abortion.
